Should I keep talking to this guy?

Ok so there is this guy that I started talking to and I have been on 2 dates with him so far. He went back to school, which is like 3 hours away from where I live, and we used to talk on the phone everyday and I think he knew i cared for him more than a friend. He has dropped a ton on hints too and I told him that I think I was misreading his hints but he said that he meant every hint he dropped. But for the past week we have not talked like we used to. I don't know if it is stress from his finals and midterms, but I am just confused about what I should do.
