What did the ancient Aztecs contribute to today's society? Did they have any important inventions or theories?

It wasn't until the Spaniards came that the aztecs got displaced. Since there were no more wars of the roses, the population grew to what you see now. Neither the church or the state have done anything to alleviate this situation. The end result, in my opinion, is the narcotraffic.
