Esophagus and stomach being burned while eating...literally?

if you are in the habit of ingesting really hot (as in high in temperature) food and drink, could that damage your esophageal and stomach linings over time? i frequently eat and drink things before they cool down completely due to lack of time (and sometimes just out of pure habit), stuff like hot noodle soup or hot tea. they'd be hot enough to burn my mouth, so instead of leaving them for too long in my mouth i'd quickly swallow them down and when i do that i can literally feel the heat wave going down the esophagus towards the stomach. i've been doing this for over 15 years now and just now i realized there might be negative consequences to this?
