If two people have the same entire name but live in different towns. and one gets in trouble and the other d?

i live in town that is like maybe 60 miles from where this other lady lives. the fact of the matter is we have the same first middle and last name, she got into some trouble. and has a criminal record. two of my sisters know this but yet they pull up her records and send them to people making people think it is me, they are ruining my credit as well as my name. one of them is even a preacher her and her husband. legally what can be done. isn't that considered slander. i called the town the other lady lives in and she doesn't have a phone number.
