Two problems: cries in crate and follows me everywhere!!?

My chinese crested is about a year and a half now. I have had him since he was at least 5 months. Problem one: I recently moved and though he is crate trained, he has been crying when I leave until I let him out again. Yes, his crate is in my room and I always tell him I will be back later, which used to work. Secondly, he has to follow me everywhere. If he is eating and I walk to the living room from the kitchen, he will stop to run after me! Even go to the bathroom without him is a no-no because the moment I turn my back, he lifts his leg as if to say HA and whines. (I know, I should have had him neutered! It's coming.)Before, he would know I was leaving because I would get dressed (coat and all), get my keys, then let him out of his crate to walk him outside. After coming back in, he would go to his crate and I would give my farewell. Now, the moment I leave the room BEFORE donning a coat (we have a backyard now, I just let him out), he starts to whine and cry. I tell him I will be back, sit, good boy, nothing works. I know he is a mommas boy and has to be around me, but this is ridiculous and annoying. HELP ME!
