A specific animeted movie (old), could you help?

I'm looking for an old animated movie (might have been an anime) it had a "Captain Nemo", 20 000 leagues under the sea type of feel to it and the main character was a boy who had a pet cheetah. I remember watching it as a kid, but for the love of me, I can't remember what it was called. Any ideas?
