What's the most environmentally-friendly way to ship a package across the country?

Trains are the most efficient, there's very little rolling resistance with steel wheels on steel rails so even though they burn diesel to generate the electricity used by the train (trains are all electric, some just carry a diesel generator with them), very little is used compared to the amount of cargo they carry.
